Estimation shows that there are more than 2 million American men currently living with prostate cancer, which is believed as the most common non-skin cancer in the US. The data shows that one out of six men is affected. One hundred and ninety two thousand men are diagnosed to have prostate cancer in 2009, and 27,000 out them died from the disease. Definitely, one case occurs in every 2.7 minutes and a man dies from the disease very after nineteen minutes.
Dr. Jonathan W. Simons of the Prostate Cancer Foundation said that: “Every man has the right to know if he has cancer and the PSA test and an informed discussion with the specialist are the best tools for an early diagnosis when available treatments are most effective.”
